WELLNESS WITHOUT OBSESSION

Abraham Lincoln once said: “I have always found that mercy bears richer fruits than strict justice”.

It is agreeable that strictness bears fruits, but on the other hand, it tightens the room for improvement on other subsidiary aspects, which would yield more positive results.

Speaking on one of the aspects of well-being, it is well noted that a strict diet and workout are the key to anyone’s physical and mental health but let’s be honest here, it’s not easy to give up the few things we are used to and some are the things we genuinely love doing.

Of course, it is a fact that eating healthy is necessary but the obsession to lose weight that comes with this kind of strictness on a diet is damaging and becomes a demolishing hummer than a building block.

The wellness of the body, mind and spirit/soul depends on various factors that act as triggers towards your well-being. These triggers involve your life’s routines, interests, priorities, environment, likes, dislikes and many other things that are crucial in your everyday life.

We consider these factors in terms of; Joy, Spirituality, Creativity, Finances, Career, Education, Health, Physical activities, Home Cooking, Home Environment, Relationships and Social life, which play a big role in determining all the key contributors to your current mental or physical situation

Treating your life with a few adjustments to your lifestyle while considering other things that add value to your wellness becomes less of a punishment to achieve a specific goal towards your well-being.

One of my clients realised that binge eating sweets at night were not a nutrition problem. It was a self-defence mechanism to cope with lonely nights at home. There were no sweet kisses and hugs, no family to cheer her up. Feeling isolated and unsupported led to significant weight gain, which we could combat by looking at other areas of life (relationships, home environment, joy and social life).

If you want to see what improvements are necessary for your life, I am just a call away!

In the 1930s, Allen F. Morgenstern said, “Work smarter, not harder.”

Focus on being productive, not busy, and you will continually earn unbelievable results.
